La Connaissance de l'Imam (a.s.) et la Croyance en Son Autorité Divine

2. Al-Husayn has narrated from Mu‘alla al-Hassan ibn Ali from Ahmad ibn ‘A’idh from his father from ’Udhayna who has said that more than one person has narrated to us from one the two Imams (a.s.) who has said the following. “One will not be considered a Mu‘min until he knows Allah, His Messenger and all of the Imams and the Imam of ones time, acknowledges his Divine authority and submits his affairs to the Imam (a.s.).” He then said, “How would one know the last one when one is ignorant of the first one.”

2 - Al-Husayn a rapporté de Mu'alla, de al-Hasan ibn Ali, d'Ahmad ibn A'idh, de son père, d'Ibn Udhayna, qui a dit : "Plusieurs d'entre eux (que la paix soit sur eux) nous ont informés que l'esclave ne sera pas croyant tant qu'il ne reconnaîtra pas Dieu, Son Messager, tous les Imams, l'Imam de son époque, ne reviendra pas à eux et ne se soumettra pas à eux. Puis il a dit : Comment reconnaîtra-t-il le dernier alors qu'il ignore le premier."

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from Hisham ibn Salim from Zurara who has said the following. “I said to abu Ja’far (a.s.), ‘Is knowing the Imam from among you obligatory on all creatures?’” The Imam (a.s.) said, “Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, sent Muhammad to all people as His Messenger and as His authority over all creatures on earth. Those who have faith in Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger and have followed him and have acknowledged his message on such people it is obligatory to the Imam from us. Those who do not have faith in Allah and in His messenger and who do not follow him and do not acknowledge him and do not acknowledge the rights of Allah and His messenger then knowing the Imam (a.s.) would be obligatory on them? They do not have faith in Allah and in His messenger, do not follow him and do not acknowledge their rights.” I then asked, “What would you say about those who have faith in Allah and His messenger who acknowledge His messenger in all the matters that have come from Allah, is it obligatory for them to know the Imam (a.s.) from you?” The Imam (a.s.) said, “Yes, it is obligatory. Do they not know so and so?” I said, “yes, they do.” The Imam (a.s.) then said, “Do you think Allah is the one who has placed such knowledge in their hearts? No, I swear to Allah that no one other than Satan has placed such knowledge in their hearts. I swear to Allah that no one other than Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has inspired our rights in hearts of the believers.”

Il a répondu : "Certes, Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, a envoyé Muhammad (que la prière d'Allah soit sur lui et sur sa famille) à l'ensemble des gens en tant que Messager et preuve de Dieu sur l'ensemble de Sa création sur terre. Celui qui croit en Allah et en Muhammad, le Messager d'Allah, qui le suit et le confirme, alors la connaissance de l'Imam parmi nous est obligatoire pour lui. Et celui qui ne croit pas en Allah et en Son Messager, qui ne le suit pas, ne le confirme pas et ne reconnaît pas leur droit, comment la connaissance de l'Imam lui serait-elle obligatoire alors qu'il ne croit pas en Allah et en Son Messager, et ne reconnaît pas leur droit ?" J'ai dit : "Que dites-vous de ceux qui croient en Allah et en Son Messager, qui confirment son Message dans tout ce qu'Allah a révélé, la connaissance de ceux-là est-elle obligatoire pour vous ?" Il a répondu : "Oui, mais est-ce que ceux-là reconnaissent untel et untel ?" J'ai dit : "Oui." Il a dit : "Penses-tu qu'Allah est Celui qui a insufflé la connaissance de ceux-là dans leurs cœurs ? Par Allah, ce n'est pas Lui qui a insufflé cela dans leurs cœurs, mais c'est plutôt Satan. Par Allah, Il n'a inspiré aux croyants notre vérité que Dieu, le Puissant et Majestueux."

4. From the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from ‘Amr ibn abu al-Miqdam from Jabir who has said the following. “I heard imam abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘Only those who know Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, and worship Him. It is such people who know Him and know the Imam from the family of the Holy Prophet (s.a). Those who do not know Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, and do not know the Imam from us, Ahlul Bayt, such people only know and worship something other than Allah just like that in error.”

4- Il a été rapporté de lui, d'Ahmad ibn Muhammad, de Al-Hassan ibn Mahboub, d'Amr ibn Abi Al-Miqdam, de Jabir, qui a dit : J'ai entendu Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) dire : Certes, celui qui connaît Allah, le Très Haut, et L'adore est celui qui connaît Allah et connaît son Imam parmi nous, membres de la famille (Ahl al-Bayt). Quant à celui qui ne connaît ni Allah, le Très Haut, ni l'Imam parmi nous, membres de la famille (Ahl al-Bayt), alors il ne fait que connaître et adorer autre que Allah, ainsi, par Allah, il est dans l'égarement.

5. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Jaumhur from Faddala ibn Ayyub from Mu‘awiya ibn Wahab from Dhurayh who has said the following. “I asked abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) about the Imams after the Holy Prophet (s.a.).” The Imam (a.s.) said, “Amir al-Mu’minin (Ali) (a.s.) was the Imam. Then al-Hassan (a.s.) was the Imam. Then al-Husayn (a.s.) was the Imam. Then Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.) was the Imam. Then Muhammad ibn Ali (a.s.) was the Imam. One who would deny this would be as if he has denied the existence of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, and the truthfulness of Prophet Muhammad (s.a).” I asked, “may Allah take my soul in service for your cause, are you then the Imam? I repeated it three times.” The Imam said, “I only said it to you so that you will be of the witnesses before Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, on His earth.”

5. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad a rapporté de Mu'alla ibn Muhammad, de Muhammad ibn Jumhur, de Fadala ibn Ayyub, de Mu'awiya ibn Wahb, de Dharikh, qui a dit : J'ai demandé à Aba Abdillah (sur lui la paix) au sujet des Imams après le Prophète (que la paix soit sur lui et sa famille). Il a dit : Amir al-Mu'minin (sur lui la paix) était un Imam, puis al-Hasan (sur lui la paix) était un Imam, puis al-Husayn (sur lui la paix) était un Imam, puis Ali ibn al-Husayn était un Imam, puis Muhammad ibn Ali était un Imam. Celui qui nie cela est comme celui qui nie la connaissance de Dieu, le Très-Haut, et la connaissance de Son Messager (que la paix soit sur lui et sa famille). Ensuite, j'ai dit : Puisse-je être sacrifié pour vous, j'ai répété cela trois fois. Il m'a dit : Je t'ai informé pour que tu sois parmi les témoins de Dieu, le Très-Haut, sur Sa terre.

6. A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from those whom he mentioned from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Layla from his father from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following. “You will not be of the people of good deeds until you will know. You will not know until you acknowledge. You will not acknowledge until you safeguard the four doors and the first of these doors will not do any good without the last. The people of the three strayed far away from the (right) path. Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, accepts only the righteous deeds. Allah does not accept with one’s fulfilling the conditions of the covenant. Those who remain faithful to Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, about His condition and follow what is prescribed in the covenant he will receive blessings from Him and He will keep His promise. Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has informed the people of the path of guidance and has sanctioned for them the laws of Shari‘a as beacons. He has informed them how to follow the laws. He has said, “I am All-forgiving to the righteously striving believers who repent and follow the right guidance.” (20:82) “Allah (God) only accepts the offerings of the pious ones.” (5:27) Those who are pious before Allah about His commandments they meet Allah as believers in in whatever Prophet has brought to them from Allah. It is unfortunate that people died before finding guidance. They thought that they were believers but they became polytheist without realizing it. Those who enter the house through the door they are rightly guided. Those who go other ways they are on the path to destruction. Allah has connected the obedience to the people of Divine authority with the obedience to His Messenger and the obedience to His messenger with obedience to His Own-self. Those who would disregard obedience to the people of Divine authority they have not obeyed Allah and His Messenger. This obedience is the acknowledgment of what Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has sent. (That you) be well dressed with means of beauty near every mosque; that you should enter the doors of the houses that Allah has given permission to be uplifted wherein His names be mentioned. Allah has certainly informed you that there are certain man whose attentions and mind do not deviate from speaking about Allah, prayer and paying charity because of business and trade attractions. They only fear the Day in which the hearts and eyes turn upside down. Allah has appointed the messengers for commands. He then chose them to acknowledge in His Warning and said, “No nation who lived before was left without a Warner . .” (35:25) Stray those who are ignorant and find the right guidance those who think and understand. Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has said, “It is their hearts in the center which are blind, not their ears.” (22:46) How can one does not see find guidance and how would one understand without thinking? Follow the Messenger of Allah and his Ahlul Bayt (family) and acknowledge what Allah has sent and follow the traces of guidance. They (Ahlul Bayt) are the signs of trust and piety. Know that if a person would deny Jesus, the son of Mary (a.s.) and acknowledge all the other prophets such person will not be considered a believer. Follow the path by the help of the lighthouses and follow the signs from behind the barriers. Try to perfect the matters of your religion and have faith in Allah, your Lord.”

Le nombre de nos compagnons rapportant d'Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, de son père, de celui qui l'a mentionné, de Muhammad ibn Abderrahman ibn Abi Layla, de son père, de l'Imam Abu Abdillah (que la paix soit sur lui) qui a dit : "Vous ne serez pas vertueux tant que vous ne connaîtrez pas, et vous ne connaîtrez pas tant que vous ne croirez pas, et vous ne croirez pas tant que vous n'accepterez pas quatre principes, dont le premier ne peut être correctement établi qu'avec le dernier. Les compagnons des trois premiers principes se sont égarés et se sont perdus loin du droit chemin. Certes, Allah, le Très Haut, n'accepte que les bonnes actions, et Allah n'accepte que le respect des conditions et des engagements. Celui qui respecte les conditions d'Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, et met en pratique ce qui a été prescrit dans Son pacte, atteindra ce qui lui est promis. Certes, Allah, le Très Haut, a informé Ses serviteurs des voies de la guidance, leur a établi des balises, et leur a montré comment suivre le bon chemin. Il a dit : "Je suis Clément envers celui qui se repent, croit, accomplit de bonnes actions, puis se guide. Certes, Allah n'accepte que des pieux. Celui qui craint Allah dans ce qu'Il lui a ordonné, rencontrera Allah en croyant en ce que Muhammad (que la paix soit sur lui et sa famille) a apporté. Malheur, malheur à un peuple qui meurt avant d'être guidé, pensant qu'ils ont cru alors qu'ils ont associé sans le savoir. Celui qui entre par les portes de la guidance se guide, et celui qui emprunte d'autres voies prend le chemin de l'égarement. Qu'Allah accorde le succès à l'obéissance au guide de Son commandement, en obéissant à Son Messager, et en obéissant à Son Messager en obéissant à Lui. Celui qui abandonne l'obéissance aux autorités de l'ordre n'obéit ni à Allah ni à Son Messager, et c'est reconnaître ce qui a été révélé par Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux. Embellissez-vous en vous rendant dans chaque mosquée, et cherchez les maisons où le nom d'Allah est mentionné et glorifié, car Il vous a informé que ce sont des hommes qui ne sont pas distraits par le commerce ni la vente de l'évocation d'Allah, de l'établissement de la prière et du paiement de l'aumône, craignant un jour où les cœurs et les regards seront bouleversés. Allah a choisi les messagers pour Son commandement, puis Il les a choisis comme confirmateurs de cela dans leurs avertissements. Il a dit : "Il n'y a pas une communauté sans qu'un avertisseur ne soit passé parmi eux, égarant ceux qui étaient ignorants et guidant ceux qui voyaient et comprenaient. Certes, Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, dit : "Ce ne sont pas les yeux qui s'aveuglent, mais ce sont les cœurs dans les poitrines qui s'aveuglent." Comment celui qui ne voit pas peut-il se guider, et comment celui qui ne réfléchit pas peut-il voir ? Suivez le Messager d'Allah et les membres de sa famille, acceptez ce qui est descendu d'Allah, et suivez les traces de la guidance, car elles sont les signes de la confiance et de la piété. Sachez que si un homme renie Jésus, fils de Marie (que la paix soit sur lui), et reconnaît un autre que lui parmi les messagers, il ne croira pas. Coupez la route en recherchant la lumière, et cherchez derrière les voiles les traces pour compléter les affaires de votre religion et croire en Allah, votre Seigneur.

7. A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Saghir from whom he has narrated from Rib‘i ibn ‘Abdallah from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following. “Allah did not want to let things work except through their means and reasons. For everything He made a cause, for every cause an explanation, for every explanation a science, for every science a speaking chapter. Some people know it and some do not know. It is the messengers of Allah and we.”

7- Un certain nombre de nos compagnons ont rapporté d'Ahmad ibn Muhammad, de Husayn ibn Sa'id, de Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Saghīr, de celui qui lui a transmis, de Rib'ī ibn 'Abdillah, de Abī 'Abdillah (sur lui la paix) qu'il a dit : "Allah a voulu que les choses se réalisent par des causes, Il a donc assigné à chaque chose une cause, à chaque cause une explication, à chaque explication une connaissance, et à chaque connaissance une porte parlante que celui qui la connaît reconnaît et que celui qui l'ignore ignore. Tel est le Messager d'Allah (que la paix soit sur lui et sur sa famille), et nous sommes [ses partisans]."

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Safwan ibn Yahya from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following. “I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever would worship Allah in the expectation for reward and work hard but without having an Imam for himself his efforts would not be received acceptance. Such person is last and straying and Allah would dislike his deeds. The example of such person is like that of a lost sheep who would stray away from her herd. She would wonder around during the day and at nightfall she would see a different flock of sheep with a shepherd and she would glad and affectionately join it thinking it to be like her own flock. She would pass the night in their barn but in the morning when the shepherd let the flock out she could not recognize her flock and shepherd and begin to wonder in search for her own flock and shepherd and saw a flock and a shepherd. She then would rush to the flock with great interest but the shepherd shouted, ‘Go to your own flock and shepherd because you are lost and wondering.’ She then would run back and forth lost and wondering without a shepherd to show her the grazing areas and the barn. At such time a wolf would seize the opportunity and would kill her to eat. Just the same is the case, O Muhammad, those people of this ’Ummah (nation) who has no Imam from Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, who is in public and possessing the noble quality of justice. Such people are lost and straying. If such people would in such a condition their death would be like that of an unbeliever and hypocrite. O Muhammad, take notice that the unjust Imams and their followers are far away from the religion of Allah. They have lost the right path and have mislead the others. The deeds that they are like dust blown away by the winds in a stormy day. They would remain helpless and unable to benefit from their deeds. Such is straying far away from the right path.”

8 - Muhammad ibn Yahya, de Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, de Safwan ibn Yahya, de Al-Ala ibn Razin, de Muhammad ibn Muslim, a dit : J'ai entendu Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) dire : "Celui qui adule Allah, exalté soit-Il, en s'efforçant pour Lui sans qu'Il lui ait désigné un guide, son effort ne sera pas accepté et il sera égaré et perdu. Allah méprise ses actions. Son exemple est tel celui d'une brebis égarée loin de son berger et de son troupeau, errant le jour venu, jusqu'à ce que la nuit l'entraîne vers un troupeau de moutons avec son berger. Elle s'y attache et s'y mêle dans son enclos. Lorsque le berger ramène son troupeau, elle renie son berger et son troupeau, errant perdue à la recherche de son berger et de son troupeau. Elle aperçoit alors un troupeau de moutons avec son berger, s'y attache et s'y mêle, jusqu'à ce que le berger lui crie : "Ô brebis égarée, tu es perdue et désorientée loin de ton berger et de ton troupeau." Elle s'effraie, désorientée, cherchant en vain son berger pour la guider vers son pâturage ou la ramener. Pendant ce temps, le loup en profite pour la capturer et la dévorer. Par Allah, ô Muhammad, celui de cette communauté qui se lève sans qu'Allah, exalté soit-Il, lui ait désigné un guide juste et apparent, se lève égaré et perdu. S'il meurt dans cet état, il meurt d'une mort de mécréance et d'hypocrisie. Sache, ô Muhammad, que les tyrans et leurs partisans sont exclus de la religion d'Allah, égarés et égarants. Leurs actions sont comme de la cendre emportée par un vent violent en un jour de tempête, incapables de profiter de ce qu'ils ont acquis. Voilà l'égarement lointain."

9. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Jumhur from ‘Abdallah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from al-Haytham ibn Waqid from Muqrin who has said the following. “I heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) saying, ‘Ibn al-Kawwa came to Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.) and asked, “O Amir al-Mu’minin,(what do you say about; “There will be people on the Heights who know everyone by their faces . .” (7:46). The Imam said, “we will be on the Heights. We will recognize our supporters from their faces. We are the Heights without whose knowing there is no other way to know Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High. We are the Heights that Allah on the Day of Judgment will make known to everyone on the bridge. No one will enter paradise without knowing us and our knowing them. No one will enter hell except those would not know us and we will ignore them. If Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, would want to let people know Him He may do so but He has made us the door to knowing Him, the bridge, the path and the aspect to Him. Whoever would deviate from our authority and guardianship or would consider others more excellent than us such people will down off the bridge. People are the same in following guidance. They are not equal with those who have found the sparkling fountains with those who have gathered around polluted waters that fall over other such waters. Such are not equal with those who have found the sparkling fountains that flow by the order of the Lord without ceasing and reduction.”

9- Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad a rapporté de Mu'alla ibn Muhammad, de Muhammad ibn Jumhur, d'Abdullah ibn Abd ar-Rahman, de al-Haytham ibn Waqid, de Muqarrin, qui a dit : J'ai entendu Abu Abdillah (que la paix soit sur lui) dire : Ibn al-Kawwa' est venu voir l'Imam des croyants (que la paix soit sur lui) et lui a dit : "Ô Commandeur des croyants, sur les hauteurs, il y a des hommes qui reconnaissent chacun par son visage." Il a répondu : "Nous, sur les hauteurs, nous reconnaissons nos partisans par leur visage. Nous sommes les hauteurs par lesquelles Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, n'est reconnu que par le moyen de notre reconnaissance. Et nous sommes les hauteurs par lesquelles Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, nous reconnaîtra au Jour de la Résurrection sur le Pont. N'entrera au Paradis que celui qui nous aura reconnus et que nous aurons reconnu, et n'entrera en Enfer que celui qui nous aura reniés et que nous aurons renié. Certes, si Allah, béni et exalté soit-Il, le voulait, Il ferait en sorte que Ses serviteurs se reconnaissent eux-mêmes, mais Il a fait de nous Ses portes, Son Chemin, Sa Voie et le Visage d'où vient la guidance. Celui qui se détourne de notre autorité ou qui préfère autrui à nous, alors ceux-là s'éloignent de la Voie. Il n'y a pas d'égal entre celui que les gens tiennent fermement et celui vers qui les gens se dirigent vers des sources troubles où une partie se déverse dans l'autre, et celui qui vient vers nous va vers des sources claires qui coulent par l'ordre de leur Seigneur, sans tarissement ni interruption."

10. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn muhammad from Bakr ibn Salih from al-Rayyan ibn Shabib from yunus from abu Ayyub al-Khazziz from abu Hamza who has narrated from Imam abu Ja’far‘far (a.s.) the following. “O abu Hamza, when one of decide to travel for just a few miles he first finds a guide and direction for himself. Your knowledge of the paths of heavens is much less than your knowledge of the paths of earth. You must find a guide for yourself.”

10 - Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad, de Mu'alla ibn Muhammad, de Ali ibn Muhammad, de Bakr ibn Salih, de Rayyan ibn Shabib, de Yunus, d'Abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz, d'Abu Hamza, a dit: Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) a dit: "Ô Abu Hamza, l'un de vous sortira avec des questions profondes, cherchant des preuves pour lui-même, alors que tu es plus ignorant des chemins du ciel que des chemins de la terre. Cherche des preuves pour toi-même."

11. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Ayyub al-Hurr from abu Basir from Imam abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following about the words of Allah ‘Whoever is given wisdom he has received a great deal of goodness’ (2:273) “It means obedience to Allah and knowin who one’s Imam is.”

11 - Ali ibn Ibrahim, de Muhammad ibn Isa, de Yunus, de Ayyub ibn al-Hurr, d'Abu Basir, de Abu Abdullah (que la paix soit sur lui) a dit au sujet de la parole d'Allah, le Très-Haut : "Et quiconque reçoit la sagesse, a certes reçu un bien immense", il a dit : "L'obéissance à Allah et la connaissance de l'Imam".

12. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abdallah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from aban from abu Basir saying that Imam abu Ja’far‘far (a.s.) said to him the following. “Have you found out who your Imam is?” I said, “Yes, I swear by Allah, I did so before I left Kufa.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “Then it is sufficient for you.”

12. Muhammad ibn Yahya, d'après Abdallah ibn Muhammad, d'après Ali ibn al-Hakam, d'après Aban, d'après Abi Basir, a dit: Abou Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) m'a demandé: "As-tu reconnu ton Imam?" J'ai répondu: "Oui, par Allah, avant même de quitter Koufa." Il a alors dit: "Cela te suffit alors."

13. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Isma‘il from Mansur ibn Yunus from Burayd who has said that he heard Imam abu Ja’far (a.s.) said the following about the words of Allah, “Can the dead to whom We have given life and light so that they may walk among the people, be considered equal to those who can never come out of darkness?” (6:122) The dead do not understand anything ‘The light by the help of which they walk’ is the Imam that they follow.’ “be considered equal to those who can never come out of darkness” applies to those who do not know who their Imam is.”

13 - Muhammad ibn Yahya, d'Ahmad ibn Muhammad, de Muhammad ibn Ismaïl, de Mansour ibn Younus, de Burayd, a dit : J'ai entendu Abou Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) dire à propos de la parole d'Allah, exalté soit-Il : "Et qui était mort, et Nous lui avons donné la vie et Nous lui avons assigné une lumière grâce à laquelle il marche parmi les gens". Il dit : "Un mort qui ne connaît rien et une lumière avec laquelle il marche parmi les gens en tant qu'Imam, guidant avec elle comme celui qui lui ressemble dans les ténèbres sans en sortir." Celui qui ne connaît pas l'Imam a dit.

14. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’warma and Muhammad ibn ‘Abdallah from Ali ibn Hassan from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Kathir from Imam abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following. “Imam abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Abu ‘Abdallah al-Jadali once came to Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.). Amir al-mu’minin said to him, “O abu ‘Abdallah may I say something to you about the words of Allah, ‘Whoever does a good deed will receive a better reward than what he has done. He will be secure from the terror of the Day of Judgment (27:89). Those who commit evil will be thrown headlong into hell fire. (It will be said to them) can you expect any recompense other than what you deserve for your deeds?’ (27:90) The man said, “yes, O Amir al-Mu’minin, please tell me, may Allah take my soul in service for your cause.” Amir al-Mu’mini said, “A good deed means is to acknowledge our Divine authority and have our love in one’s heart. Evil means denying our Divine authority and harboring in one’s heart hatered towards us.” Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.) then read the verses to him.

14- Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad a rapporté de Mu'alla ibn Muhammad, de Muhammad ibn 'Urayma et de Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah, de 'Ali ibn Hassan, de 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Kathir, de l'Imam Abu 'Abdullah (sur lui la paix) qui a dit : Abu 'Abdullah al-Jadali entra chez l'Imam des croyants et lui dit : "Ô Abu 'Abdullah, puis-je te rapporter la parole d'Allah le Très-Haut : "Celui qui vient avec une bonne action en aura une meilleure encore, et ils seront en sécurité, à l'abri de tout effroi ce jour-là. Et ceux qui viennent avec une mauvaise action, leurs visages seront plongés dans le Feu : "Allez-vous être rétribués autrement que selon ce que vous avez œuvré ?" Il répondit : "Oui, ô Amir al-Mu'minin, je suis prêt à me sacrifier pour toi." Il dit : "La bonne action est la reconnaissance de la wilaya et l'amour de nous, Ahl al-Bayt, et la mauvaise action est le déni de la wilaya et la haine envers nous, Ahl al-Bayt." Ensuite, il lui récita ce verset.
