Avoir l'intention de réaliser une bonne ou une mauvaise action

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama’a ibn Mehran from abu Basir from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “A believer may intend to perform a good deed but does not do it, still (the reward for) one good deed will be written for him and if he actually completes it, (the reward for) ten good deeds will be written in his favor. A believer may intend to commit an evil deed but if he does not do it, nothing will be written against him.”

Certes, le croyant est récompensé pour une bonne action même s'il ne l'accomplit pas; une bonne action lui est alors écrite. S'il la réalise, dix bonnes actions lui sont inscrites. Quant à la mauvaise action, il lui est possible de la commettre sans la réaliser, auquel cas elle ne lui est pas inscrite.

3. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ali ibn Hafs al-‘Awsi from Ali ibn al-Sa’ih from ‘Abd Allah ibn Musa ibn Ja’far from his father (a.s.) who has said the following: “Once I asked him (a.s.) if the two angels know the sin or good deed that a servant (of Allah) may intend to perform. The Imam said, ‘Are the smell of a trash collection site and a sweet smelling substance the same?’ I said, ‘No, they are not the same.’ The Imam said, ‘Whenever a servant (of Allah) intends to perform a good deed his breath comes out with a good smell and the angel on the right side says to the one on the left side, ‘Stand up; he intends to perform a good deed.’ When he performs it his tongue serves as his pen and his saliva as ink and he writes it down for him. Whenever he intends to commit an evil deed his breath comes out with a foul smell. The angel on the left says to the one on the right, ‘Stop; he intends to commit an evil deed.’ For an evil act his tongue serves as the pen and his saliva as ink and he writes it down against him.’”

Le parfum du chanvre et le parfum du musc sont égaux. Quand un serviteur a l'intention de faire une bonne action, son souffle devient parfumé. Alors, l'ange de droite dit à l'ange de gauche : Lève-toi, car il a l'intention de faire une bonne action. Quand il la fait, sa langue est son stylo, sa salive est son encre, et il est enregistré pour lui. Et quand il a l'intention de commettre un péché, son souffle devient nauséabond. Alors, l'ange de gauche dit à l'ange de droite : Arrête, car il a l'intention de commettre un péché. Quand il le commet, sa langue est son stylo, sa salive est son encre, et il est enregistré contre lui.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Fadl ibn ‘Uthman al-Muradi who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘If four things are found in a person Allah will not allow his destruction to take place unless he is one of those doomed to destruction: (1) a servant (of Allah) intends to perform a good deed and actually does it, (2) even if he does not do it Allah still writes for him one good deed because of his good intention, but if he actually does perform it Allah will write ten good deeds for him. (3) One may intend to commit an evil deed and if he does not do it nothing will be written against him, however, (4) if he does commit such act he will be given seven hours. The angel for the good deeds will say to the one for the evil deeds who is on the left side, ‘Do not hurry, perhaps he may perform a good deed that will cancel the evil deed as Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, says, ‘The good deeds remove the bad deeds,’ (11:115) if he may say, ‘I ask forgiveness from Allah, besides whom no one deserves to be worshipped. He knows the unseen and the manifest, He is the most majestic, the most wise, the forgiving, the merciful, glorious and honorable and 1 turn in repentance to Him,’ nothing will be written against him. If seven hours pass, and he performs no good deed or repentance the angel for the good deeds will say to the one for the evil deeds, ‘Write it down against the wicked and deprived one that he is.’”

"Quatre choses, si une personne les possède, elle ne sera pas détruite par Allah après elles, sauf si elle se détruit elle-même : l'esclave est tenté par une bonne action et la fait, alors si elle ne la fait pas, Allah lui écrit une bonne action pour sa bonne intention. Et s'il la fait, Allah lui en écrit dix. Il est tenté par une mauvaise action et la fait, alors si elle ne la fait pas, rien n'est écrit contre lui. Et s'il la fait, elle est différée pendant sept heures. Le détenteur de bonnes actions dit au détenteur de mauvaises actions, qui est du côté gauche : Ne te presse pas, peut-être qu'une bonne action la suivra et l'effacera, car Allah le Puissant et Majestueux dit : Les bonnes actions effacent les mauvaises. Ou demande pardon. S'il dit : Je demande pardon à Allah, il n'y a de divinité digne d'adoration qu'Allah, le Connaisseur de l'invisible et du visible, le Puissant, le Sage, le Pardonneur, le Miséricordieux, le Détenteur de la Majesté et de la Générosité, et je me repens à Lui, rien ne lui est écrit. Et si sept heures passent et qu'il ne la suit pas d'une bonne action et de demande de pardon, le détenteur de bonnes actions dit au détenteur de mauvaises actions : Écris pour le misérable et privé."
