1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ya’qub ibn Yazid in a marfu’ manner from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “If one reads the Holy Quran from a copy, he benefits from his eyesight, and his parents receive relief even if they are unbelievers.”

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Faddal from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Three things will complain before Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy: A Mosque where no one of the neighborhood performs prayer, a scholar among the ignorant people and the copy of the Holy Quran on which dust has accumulated and no one reads it.”

4. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Jumhur from Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ibn Mas’adah from al-Hassan ibn Rashid from his grandfather from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Reading of the Holy Quran from a copy relieves suffering punishment of one’s parents even if they are unbelievers.”

5. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Yahya ibn al- Mubarak from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Mu’awiyah ibn Wahab from Ishaq ibn ‘ Ammar who has said the following: “Once I said to Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘May Allah keep my soul in service for your cause, I memorize the Holy Quran by heart and read from my memory, is that more virtuous or looking on a copy of the Holy Quran?’ The narrator has said that the Imam said to me, ‘It is better to look in a copy. Have you not heard that looking at a copy of the Holy Quran is an act of worship?”’

IsnādUn certain nombre de nos compagnons de Sahl ibn Ziyad, de Yahya ibn al-Mubarak, d'Abdullah ibn Jabala, de Muawiya ibn Wahb, d'Isaac ibn Ammar, d'Abu Abdullah (que la paix soit sur lui) ont rapporté qu'il a dit:

J'ai dit : "Puissé-je être sacrifié pour vous ! Je mémorise le Coran sur le devant de mon cœur et je le récite sur le devant de mon cœur. Est-ce meilleur ou devrais-je regarder dans le Mushaf ?" Il m'a répondu : "Non, récite-le et regarde dans le Mushaf, car tu sais que regarder dans le Mushaf est un acte d'adoration."
