Repentir

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz from Muhammad ibn Muslim from one of the two Imams (a.s.) who has said the following: “About the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘. . . one who has received advice from his Lord and has stopped committing sins will be rewarded for his previous good deeds . . .’ (2:275) The Imam said, ‘Advice means repentance.’”

Celui à qui vient un rappel de son Seigneur, puis qui s'arrête, aura ce qui précède. Le rappel est le repentir.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn Ali from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl from abu al-Sabah al- Kinani who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘Believers, turn to Allah in repentance, in a Nasuh manner, with the intention of never repeating the same sin.’ (66:8) The Imam said, ‘It means a servant (of Allah) repents from sins and never repeats them. ’ “Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl has said, ‘I asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.) about it (repentance in a Nasuh manner) he said, ‘One repents from sin and then does not repeat it. The most beloved among the servants (of Allah) to Allah, the Most High, are those who are put to trial and who repent from sins.”’

Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl a dit : J'ai demandé à Abu al-Hasan (que la paix soit sur lui) à ce sujet et il a dit : Il se repent de son péché, puis il ne revient pas dessus, et les serviteurs les plus aimés d'Allah, le Très-Haut, sont ceux qui sont éprouvés et qui se repentent.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from abu Ayyub from abu Basir who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘Believers, turn to Allah in repentance, “In a Nasuh manner,” with the intention of never repeating the same sin.’ (66:8) The Imam said, ‘It is the sin that one never repeats.’ I then asked, ‘Who among us does not repeat?’ The Imam said, ‘O abu Muhammad, of His servants Allah loves those who are put to trial and the ones who repent very often.’”

`Ô vous qui avez cru, repentez-vous à Allah d'un repentir sincère. C'est le péché dont on ne revient jamais. Et où est celui qui ne revient pas? Ô Abā Muḥammad, certes Allah aime parmi Ses serviteurs celui qui se repent souvent.`

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from certain individuals of our people in a marfu ’ manner from the Imam (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has given three things to the repenting people. Had any of it been given to all of those in the heavens and on earth, all have had their salvation. The following words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, mention those three things: ‘Allah loves those who ‘Repent’ and those who cleanse themselves, (2:222) whomever Allah loves He will not punish him.’ ‘The bearers of the Throne glorify their Lord with His praise. They believe in Him and ask Him to forgive the believers. They say, “Our Lord, Your mercy and knowledge encompass all things. Forgive those who turn to You in ‘Repentance’ and follow Your path. Lord, save them from the torment of hell. (40:7) Lord, admit them and their fathers, spouses, and offspring who have reformed themselves to the gardens of Eden which You have promised them. You are Majestic and All-wise. (40:8) “Lord, keep them away from evil deeds. Whomever You have saved from evil on the Day of Judgment has certainly been granted Your mercy and this is the greatest triumph.’ (40:9) “The last thing is in the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘ . . . who do not worship idols besides Allah, nor without a just cause murder a soul whom Allah has granted protection, who do not commit fornication; those who do so have committed a sin (25:68) and on the Day of Judgment their torment will be double. They will suffer forever in disgrace. (25:69) But only those who ‘Repent’ believe and act righteously will have their sins replaced with virtue; Allah is All-forgiving and All-merciful.’” (25:70)

"Certes, Allah le Très-Haut a donné aux repentants trois caractéristiques. S'Il donnait l'une de ces caractéristiques à tous les habitants des cieux et de la terre, ils seraient sauvés par elle. Il a dit: 'Certes, Allah aime ceux qui se repentent et ceux qui se purifient.' Celui qu'Allah aime, Il ne le châtiera pas. Et ceux qui portent le Trône, ainsi que ceux qui l'entourent, célèbrent la gloire de leur Seigneur... Ils demandent pardon pour ceux qui croient: 'Ô notre Seigneur, Tu embrasses tout de Ta miséricorde et de Ta connaissance, pardonne à ceux qui se repentent, suivent Ton chemin et préserve-les du châtiment de l'Enfer. Ô notre Seigneur, fais-les entrer dans les Jardins d'Éden que Tu leur as promis, ainsi qu'à ceux de leurs ancêtres, épouses et descendants qui sont vertueux. Tu es certes Puissant et Sage. Préserve-les des mauvaises actions. Celui qui évite les mauvaises actions ce jour-là, Tu lui as fait miséricorde. Et cela est la grande réussite.' Et Il a dit: 'Et ceux qui n'invoquent pas d'autre divinité avec Allah, ne tuent pas la vie qu'Allah a rendue sacrée sauf à bon droit, et ne commettent pas de fornication. Quiconque fait cela encourra une punition multipliée pour lui le Jour de la Résurrection et y demeurera humilié, sauf celui qui se repent, croit et accomplit de bonnes actions. Ceux-là, Allah remplacera leurs mauvaises actions par des bonnes, car Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.'"

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Once abu Ja’far (a.s.) said, ‘O Muhammad ibn Muslim, if believing people repent for their sins they will be forgiven. Believing people must resume their good deeds after repentance and forgiveness. By Allah, this is only for the believers.’ I then asked, ‘What if he goes back to sin after repenting and asking for forgiveness and repents again?’ The Imam said, ‘O Muhammad ibn Muslim, do you think a believing servant (of Allah) regrets his sins, asks forgiveness and repents but Allah does not accept his repentance?’ I said, ‘He, however, has done it many times. He sins, repents and asks forgiveness (from Allah).’ The Imam said, ‘Whenever a believing servant (of Allah) returns back for repentance and pleas for forgiveness, Allah returns to him with forgiveness; Allah is forgiving and merciful. He accepts repentance and effaces the evil deeds. You must never cause a believer to lose hope in the favor and mercy of Allah.’”

Il a dit : "Ô Muhammad ibn Muslim, les péchés du croyant, s'il s'en repent, lui seront pardonnés. Que le croyant agisse donc en fonction de ce qu'il reprend après le repentir et le pardon. Par Allah, cela n'est que pour les gens de foi." J'ai demandé : "Et s'il revient après s'être repenti et avoir demandé pardon pour ses péchés, et qu'il revient dans le repentir ?" Il a dit : "Ô Muhammad ibn Muslim, penses-tu que le serviteur croyant regrette son péché, demande pardon et se repent, puis qu'Allah n'accepte pas son repentir ?" J'ai dit : "Il a fait cela à maintes reprises, il pèche puis se repent et demande pardon à Allah." Il a dit : "Chaque fois que le croyant revient en demandant pardon et se repentant, Allah revient vers lui avec Son pardon. Certes, Allah est Pardonneur, Miséricordieux, Il accepte le repentir et pardonne les péchés. Gardez-vous de désespérer de la miséricorde d'Allah envers les croyants."

7. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from ibn Faddal from Tha’labah ibn Maymun from abu Basir who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘When a Satanic thought starts to bother the pious ones, they understand and see the light.’ (7:201) The Imam said, ‘It means that a servant (of Allah) intends to commit an evil deed then he realizes it and holds back and that is indicated in His words, ‘They understand and see.’”

"J'ai demandé au sujet de la parole d'Allah, exalté soit-Il: 'Quand une tentation du Diable les touche, les croyants se souviennent aussitôt [de Dieu], et les voilà clairvoyants.' Il a dit: C'est l'esclave qui est sur le point de commettre un péché, puis il se souvient et s'abstient. C'est ce que signifie 'se souvenir aussitôt [de Dieu], et les voilà clairvoyants.'"

8. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘Umar ibn ‘Udhaynah from abu ‘Ubaydah al-Hadhdha’ who has said the following: “I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘Allah, the Most High, is more pleased for the repentance of His servant than one who loses his animals, that carry his load and supplies, in a dark night and then finds them out. Allah is more pleased for the repentance of His servant than the person who finds his lost properties.’”

"Certes, Allah le Très-Haut se réjouit davantage du repentir de Son serviteur qu'un homme qui s'est égaré dans le désert, a perdu sa monture, et l'a trouvée de nuit dans l'obscurité. Allah se réjouit davantage du repentir de Son serviteur que cet homme ne se réjouit de retrouver sa monture."

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Isma’il from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Uthman from abu Jamilah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Allah loves the servant who is put to trial (by sin) and repents, however, one without such (sinful) condition is better.’”

Certes, Allah aime l'esclave qui est mis à l'épreuve et se repent, et celui qui n'est pas ainsi est moins méritant.

10. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Yusuf (ibn) abu Ya’qub Bayya’ al-Arz from Jabir who has said the following: “I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘A person repenting from sins is like one who has not sinned. One who persists in sin and asks forgiveness is like one contemptuous of it (repentance).”’

J'ai entendu dire qu'il a dit : "Celui qui se repent d'un péché est comme celui qui n'en a pas commis, et celui qui persiste dans le péché tout en demandant pardon est semblable à celui qui se moque (de Dieu)."

11. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father and a number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad all from ibn Mahbub from abu Hamza from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, sent revelation to David, ‘Meet My servant Daniel and say to him, ‘You have disobeyed Me and I forgave you, you disobeyed Me, I forgave you, you disobeyed Me and I forgave you. If you will disobey Me the forth time I will not forgive you.’ David went to meet Daniel and said, ‘O Daniel, I am the Messenger of Allah and He says to you, “You disobeyed Me and I forgave you, you disobeyed Me and I forgave you, you disobeyed Me and I forgave you. If you will disobey Me the forth time I will not forgive you.’” Daniel said, ‘O prophet of Allah, you have conveyed your message.’ In the early morning Daniel woke up and prayed to his Lord, saying, ‘O Lord, Your prophet David informed me that I have disobeyed You and You forgave me, I disobeyed You and You forgave me, I disobeyed You and You forgave me and if I will disobey You the forth time You will not forgive me. I swear by Your Majesty, if You will not protect me I will certainly disobey You, I will certainly disobey You, I will certainly disobey You.’”

Allah, le Très-Haut, a révélé à Dawud (que la paix soit sur lui) : "Va trouver Mon serviteur Daniel et dis-lui : Tu m'as désobéi et J'ai pardonné, tu m'as désobéi et J'ai pardonné, tu m'as désobéi et J'ai pardonné. Mais si tu me désobéis une quatrième fois, Je ne te pardonnerai pas." Dawud est allé voir Daniel et lui a dit : "Ô Daniel, je suis le messager d'Allah pour toi. Il te dit : Tu m'as désobéi et J'ai pardonné, tu m'as désobéi et J'ai pardonné, tu m'as désobéi et J'ai pardonné. Mais si tu me désobéis une quatrième fois, Je ne te pardonnerai pas." Daniel lui répondit : "Tu as transmis le message, ô Prophète d'Allah." En pleine nuit, Daniel se leva et implora son Seigneur en disant : "Ô mon Seigneur, Dawud, Ton prophète, m'a informé que si je te désobéis, Tu me pardonneras, si je te désobéis, Tu me pardonneras, si je te désobéis, Tu me pardonneras. Mais il m'a aussi informé que si je te désobéis une quatrième fois, Tu ne me pardonneras pas. Par Ta majesté, si Tu ne me protèges pas de la désobéissance, je Te désobéirai, je Te désobéirai, je Te désobéirai."

12. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Musa ibn al-Qasim from his grandfather al-Hassan ibn Rashid from Mu’awiyah ibn Wahab who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘When a servant (of Allah) repents in the form of the repentance of Nasuh (sincerely repenting) Allah loves him and covers him up.’ I then asked, ‘How does he cover him up?’ The Imam said, ‘He makes his two angels forget whatever they have written against him and Allah sends inspiration to the parts of his body and to the parts of the earth to hide his sins and he will meet Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy in his meeting while there will be no one to testify anything against him for his sins.’”

Quand le serviteur se repent sincèrement, Allah l'aime et le couvre. J'ai demandé: Comment Allah le couvre-t-il? Il a dit: Il fait oublier à ses deux anges ce qu'ils avaient l'habitude d'écrire à son sujet, et Allah inspire à ses membres et aux confins de la terre de cacher ses péchés pour qu'il rencontre Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, lorsqu'il Le rencontrera, et rien ne témoignera contre lui en ce qui concerne ses péchés.

13. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ari from ibn al-Qaddah from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘The repentance of a servant (of Allah) from sins pleases Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, more than a person’s finding a dearly cherished thing that he has lost.’”

Certes, Allah, Puissant et Majestueux, se réjouit du repentir de Son serviteur croyant, tout comme l'un d'entre vous se réjouit de retrouver sa monture égarée.
