Pardon

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa ibn ‘Ubayd from Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from abu ‘Abd Allah Nashib al- Lafa’ifi from Humran ibn ‘A’Yun who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Three things are of the noble qualities of this world and of the next world: to forgive those who do injustice to you, to establish relations with those who abandon you and to exercise forbearance when you are ignored.”’

Trois des noblesses de ce monde et de l'au-delà sont : pardonner à celui qui t'a fait du tort, maintenir les liens avec celui qui t'a coupé, et être patient face à l'ignorance des autres envers toi.

4. Ali has narrated from his father and Muhammad ibn Isma’il from Fadl ibn Shadhan all from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid from abu Hamza al-Thumali from Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu Hamza al-Thumali has said, ‘I heard the Imam saying, “When it will be the Day of Judgment Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, will bring together all the people of the past and the later generations on one platform. Then it will be called, ‘Where are the meritorious people?”” The Imam said, ‘Certain necks from among the people will be raised and then the angels will meet them and ask, “What were your merits?” They will say, ‘We would establish relations with those who neglected us, gave those who deprived us and forgave those who did injustice to us.’ The Imam said, ‘They will then be told, “You have indeed spoken the truth, enter in paradise.’””

J'ai entendu dire qu'au Jour du Jugement, Allah, le Très-Haut, rassemblera les premiers et les derniers sur un seul terrain, puis un héraut criera : "Où sont les gens de la vertu ?" Un groupe se lèvera parmi les gens et les anges les accueilleront en disant : "Quelle était votre vertu ?" Ils répondront : "Nous pardonnions à ceux qui nous coupaient, nous donnions à ceux qui nous privaient, et nous pardonnions à ceux qui nous opprimaient." Il leur sera alors dit : "Vous avez dit vrai, entrez au Paradis."

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Jahm ibn al-Hakam al-Mada’ini from Isma’il ibn abu Ziyad al-Sakuni from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘You must forgive. Forgiving increases one’s respect, therefore, forgive so Allah may respect you.’”

"Sur l'autorité d'Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, de Jahm ibn al-Hakam al-Madā'ini, d'Isma'il ibn Abi Ziyad al-Sakuni, de l'Imam Abu 'Abdillah (que la paix soit sur lui) qui a dit: Le Messager de Dieu (que la prière de Dieu et Sa paix soient sur lui et sa famille) a dit: 'Pratiquez le pardon, car le pardon ne fait qu'accroître la grandeur du serviteur. Pardonnez-vous mutuellement, Dieu vous accordera la grandeur.'"

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Sinan from abu Khalid al-Qammat from Humran from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Regret for forgiving is better and easier than regret for being subjected to punishment.’”

"Le remords pour le pardon est meilleur et plus facile que le remords pour le châtiment."

7. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Sa’dan from Mu’attib who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan Musa (a.s.) once was in his compound that had palm-trees. 1 looked at one of his slaves who had picked up a certain amount of dates. He threw it on the other side of the wall. I went and picked up what he had thrown and I brought it to the Imam. I said, ‘May Allah keep my soul in service for your cause, 1 found him and this amount of dates.’ The Imam called the slave, ‘O so and so.’ ‘Yes, sir,’ the slave replied. ‘Are you hungry?’ asked the Imam. ‘No, sir,’ replied the slave. ‘Do you need clothes?’ asked the Imam. ‘No, sir,’ replied the slave. ‘What for did then you take this many dates?’ inquired the Imam. ‘I just wanted,’ said the slave. ‘Take them. They are for you. Let him go,’ the Imam said to others.’”

8. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ibn Faddal who has said the following: “I heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.) saying, ‘Whenever two hostile parties face each other, the one who forgives to a greater degree comes out victorious.’”

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from Zurara from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Jewish woman who had poisoned the sheep to also poison the Holy Prophet was brought before him. He asked her, ‘What made you do this?’ She said, ‘I thought that if he is a prophet it will not harm him and if he is a king people will be relieved of his troubles.’ The Messenger of Allah forgave her.’”

Le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille) a été présenté à une juive qui avait ensorcelé une brebis pour le Prophète (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille). Il lui a demandé : "Qu'est-ce qui t'a incitée à faire cela ?" Elle a répondu : "Si c'est un prophète, cela ne lui fera pas de mal, et s'il est un roi, je soulagerai les gens de lui." Le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille) lui a alors pardonné.

10. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from ‘Amr ibn Shamir from Jabir from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘There are three qualities with which Allah increases the respect of a Muslim: To be lenient to those who do injustice to him, to give to those who deprive him and to establish relations with those who neglect him.’”

Trois choses par lesquelles Dieu n'augmente pas un croyant sans lui accorder davantage de dignité : pardonner à celui qui l'a offensé, donner à celui qui lui a privé de quelque chose, maintenir les liens avec celui qui les a coupés.
