A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahziyar from Talhah ibn Zayd who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Cutting the fingernails of a dead person, trimming hairs or shaving pubic hairs or softening body joints are detested matters.’”

4. Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad al-Kindiy from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan al-Mithamiy from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu ‘Abd Allah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a dead person whose body has hairs if it is required to shave or trim them. He (the Imam) said, ‘Nothing as such must be touched. Just give him Ghusl (bath) and bury.’”
