2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from certain persons of our people in a marfu‘ manner who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about how must a woman be shrouded. He (the Imam) said, ‘A deceased woman is shrouded just like a deceased man, except that a piece of fabric is used to tie down her breasts to her chest, with the other end tied down behind her back. More cotton and camphor is used for hunut and to fill her back and front private parts and the piece of fabric is very tightly tied down around lower part of her body (as mentioned in the case of a deceased man).”

Un groupe de nos compagnons de Sahl ibn Ziyad, de certains de nos compagnons, a rapporté, disant : J'ai interrogé Sahl sur la manière dont on devait ensevelir une femme. Il dit : On l'ensevelit comme un homme, à la différence près qu'on lui attache sur la poitrine un morceau de tissu qui lie la poitrine à la poitrine, on lui attache sur le dos, on lui prépare du coton en plus grande quantité que pour les hommes, on remplit sa bouche et son postérieur de coton, puis on lui attache fortement le morceau de tissu.
