Detestability of Conjugal Relation in Certain Times

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from ‘ Abd al-Rahman ibn Salim from his father who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about going to bed with one’s wife; if it is detestable anytime even though it is lawful.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is detestable between dawn and sunrise, from sunset to the disappearance of brightness in the west, on the day of sun eclipse, in the night of moon eclipse, in the day and night of black, red, and yellow winds and in the day and night of an earthquake. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, passed the night in which a moon eclipse took place with a certain one of his wives and he did not do in that night what he did in other nights until the morning and she asked, “Were you disappointed last night?” He (the Messenger of Allah) replied, “No, but this phenomenon took place last night and I did not like to seek pleasure or amuse myself when Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has reproached certain people in His book, ‘When they see darkness in the sky falling they say, “It is a thick piece of cloud.” Leave them alone until they face their day in which they will be thunderstruck.’ (52:44)’” Abu Ja‘far, Alayhi al-Salam, then said, ‘By Allah, whoever after reading this Hadith goes to bed with his wife in such times that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has prohibited and he then is granted a child, will find with the child what he does not like.’”
Isnādعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام)
Il a été rapporté de Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) qu'il a dit : "J'ai demandé : 'Est-il déconseillé d'avoir des relations intimes à certains moments, même si c'est licite ?' Il a répondu : 'Oui, entre l'aube et le lever du soleil, et entre le coucher du soleil et la disparition du crépuscule, ainsi que le jour où le soleil s'éclipse, et la nuit où la lune s'éclipse, et le jour et la nuit où soufflent les vents noirs, rouges et jaunes, et le jour et la nuit où survient un tremblement de terre.' Certes, le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille) a passé une nuit avec certaines de ses épouses lors d'une éclipse lunaire, et il n'a pas eu avec elles ce qu'il avait à d'autres moments, jusqu'au matin. Elles lui ont demandé : 'Ô Messager d'Allah, est-ce que tu as ressenti quelque chose de différent cette nuit ?' Il a répondu : 'Non, mais ce verset est apparu cette nuit-là, et j'ai préféré m'abstenir de plaisirs et de jeux. Allah a blâmé certaines personnes en disant dans Son Livre : S'ils voient tomber du ciel un fragment, ils disent : 'Nuage accumulé'. Laisse-les jusqu'à ce qu'ils rencontrent leur jour où ils seront frappés.' Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) a ajouté : 'Par Allah, personne ne devrait avoir de relations intimes à ces moments-là, que le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille) a déconseillés, car il a reçu la révélation à ce sujet. Puis il a un enfant et voit en lui ce qu'il aime.'
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Bakr ibn Salih from Sulayman ibn Ja’far al- Ja’fariy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘One who goes to bed with his wife in the night of the end of a lunar month when the moon is not visible at all may not remain safe from (misfortune of) premature birth of the child.’”
IsnādUn certain nombre de nos compagnons ont rapporté de Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, de Bakr ibn Salih, de Sulayman ibn Ja'far al-Ja'fari, de Abi al-Hasan (sur lui le salut) qui a dit :
Celui qui se rend chez sa famille à la fin du mois, qu'il salue le fœtus.
3. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, Alayhi al-Salam, has narrated from his father from his grandfather who has said, ‘Of the issues that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, taught Ali, Alayhi al-Salam, as advice were the following: O Ali, you must not go to bed with your wife in the first night of a lunar month, in the night of the middle of the month, and in the last night of the month, because it is feared for the child of insanity (being possessed by Jinn).’ Ali, Alayhi al-Salam, asked, ‘Why is it, O Messenger of Allah?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) replied, ‘It is because Jinn frequent overwhelming their women in the first night of a lunar month, in the night of the middle of the month and in the last night of the month. Have you not seen that one possessed by Jinn becomes epileptic in beginning of the month, in the end and in the middle of the night?”’
IsnādD'après lui, de son père, d'après celui qui l'a mentionné, d'après Abi al-Hasan Musa (que la paix soit sur lui), de son père, de son grand-père (que la paix soit sur lui) qui a dit : Le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille) a recommandé à Ali (que la paix soit sur lui) en disant : "Ô Ali, ne t'approche pas de ta famille la première nuit de la nouvelle lune, ni la nuit de la mi-mois, ni la dernière nuit. Car il est à craindre pour l'enfant de celui qui fait cela qu'il soit atteint de folie." Ali (que la paix soit sur lui) demanda : "Pourquoi cela, ô Messager d'Allah ?" Il répondit : "Les djinns augmentent leur ruse envers leurs femmes la première nuit de la nouvelle lune, la nuit de la mi-mois et la dernière nuit. N'as-tu pas vu le fou être secoué au début du mois, à la fin et au milieu ?"
Dans ce hadith, il est recommandé à Ali (que la paix soit sur lui) de ne pas avoir de relations conjugales avec sa famille la première nuit de la nouvelle lune, la nuit de la mi-mois et la dernière nuit, par crainte que cela n'ait des conséquences néfastes sur sa descendance en raison des ruses des djinns envers leurs femmes à ces moments-là.
4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Safwan from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is detestable for a man to go to bed with his wife in the night of his arrival from a journey until the morning.’”

5. Sahl ibn Ziyad has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from Misma’ abu Sayyar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘I dislike for my followers that one of them goes to bed with his wife in the middle of the month or when it is new moon because the rebels of satans and Jinn overwhelm children of Adam; they become possessed by Jinn are and insane. You can see that those possessed become epileptic in the middle and in the beginning of the month’”
IsnādSahl ibn Ziyad a rapporté de Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Shammoon, de Abdullah ibn Abd ar-Rahman, de Misma', d'Abi Sayyar, d'Abi Abdullah (que la paix soit sur lui) qui a dit:
Le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui) a dit: "Je désapprouve que l'homme cache la vérité à sa famille à la moitié du mois ou à l'apparition de la nouvelle lune, car les démons et les djinns s'approchent des enfants d'Adam à ce moment-là, les rendant fous et confus. N'avez-vous pas vu le fou être battu à la moitié du mois et à l'apparition de la nouvelle lune?"
