Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali or others from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a widow if she can go out to the house of her father and mother from her house, if she so chooses, to complete her waiting period. He (the Imam) said, ‘If she wants to complete her waiting period in the house of her husband, she can do so. If she wants to complete it in the house of her family she must not use kohl or wear ornaments.’ ”

J'ai demandé à Abū ʿAbd Allāh (sur lui la paix) au sujet d'une femme dont le mari est décédé : doit-elle sortir de la maison de son mari pour retourner chez ses parents si elle le souhaite, et se comporter de manière indépendante ? Il a répondu : Si elle souhaite se comporter de manière indépendante dans la maison de son mari, elle peut le faire, et si elle souhaite retourner chez ses parents, elle peut le faire sans se parfumer ni porter de bijoux.

Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from Aban from ibn abu Ya‘fur who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ibrahim, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies. He (the Imam) said, ‘She must not use kohl for beautification or perfume and must not wear colorful dress, spend the night somewhere else. She can pay off rights, use hair clip and go for al-Hajj even though she is in her waiting period.’”

J'ai demandé au sujet de la femme dont le mari est décédé. Il a dit : Elle ne doit pas se parfumer, ni se parer, ni porter des vêtements teints, ni passer la nuit hors de chez elle, mais elle doit régler les droits, se laver avec une ablution complète, accomplir le pèlerinage même si elle est en période d'attente ('iddah).

Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from ibn Sama‘ah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from ibn Bukayr from ‘Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies if she can perform al-Hajj and bear witness for rights. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, she can do so.’”

concernant une femme dont le mari est décédé, doit-elle accomplir le pèlerinage et payer les droits ? Il a dit : Oui.

Humayd has narrated from ibn Sama‘ah from ibn Ribat from ibn Muskan from abu al-‘Abbas who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ibrahim, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies. He (the Imam) said, ‘She must not use kohl for beautification, perfume or colorful dresses. She must not go out of her house during the day or spend the night somewhere other than her house.’ I then asked, ‘Can she go out to bear witness for a right? He (the Imam) said, ‘She can do so after midnight and return in al-‘Isha ’ (darkness).”’

Il répondit: "Elle ne doit pas se parfumer ni se parer, ne doit pas porter de vêtements teints, ne doit pas sortir en plein jour, ni passer la nuit hors de chez elle." Je dis: "Et si elle veut sortir pour un besoin légitime?" Il dit: "Elle peut sortir après minuit et rentrer avant l'aube."

Humayd has narrated from ibn Sama‘ah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from ibn Bukayr from ‘Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ibrahim, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies; if she can go out of the house of her husband. He (the Imam) said, ‘She can go out of the house of her husband, travel for al-Hajj or move from one house to another house.’”

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies and about where she can complete her waiting period. He (the Imam) said, ‘She can do so wherever she likes but she must not pass a night in a place other than her house.’”

9. Muhammad ibn Ahmad has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from a man who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ibrahim, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman who is widowed; if she can count her waiting period in a house for a month or less or more then move to another house and stay there as she did in the other house and so on until her waiting period is complete. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is permissible and it is not harmful.’”

J'ai demandé à Abu 'Abdillah (que la paix soit sur lui) au sujet d'une femme dont le mari est décédé. Est-il permis pour elle de se remarier dans une maison où elle reste un mois ou moins d'un mois ou plus, puis de se déplacer vers une autre maison où elle reste autant de temps que dans la première, jusqu'à ce que son 'iddah soit terminée ? Il a répondu : "Cela lui est permis et il n'y a pas de mal."

10. Humayd has narrated from ibn Sama‘ah from Muhammad ibn abu Hamzah from abu Ayyub from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “A woman came to abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, to ask for a fatwa about spending the night in another house; her husband had died. He (the Imam) said, ‘In the time of ignorance widows had to sit in mourning for twelve months. When Muhammad, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, was sent he felt sympathy for their weakness and reduced it (mourning) to four months and ten days but you do not bear it patiently.’”

Une femme vint voir Abī 'Abdillāh (sur lui la paix) pour le consulter au sujet de l'Iddah dans une situation où elle n'était pas chez elle et que son mari était décédé. Il répondit : "Les gens de l'ère de l'ignorance coutumaient que lorsque le mari d'une femme décédait, elle devait rester en deuil pendant douze mois. Quand Allah envoya Muhammad (que la paix soit sur lui et sa famille), Il eut pitié de leur faiblesse et réduisit leur période d'Iddah à quatre mois et dix jours. Vous ne pouvez pas supporter cela."

11. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Once abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about the case of a woman whose husband dies; if it is proper for her to perform al-Hajj and visit the sick people. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, she can do so for the sake of Allah, but must not use kohl and perfume.’”

Il a été interrogé au sujet d'une femme dont le mari décède et se demande si elle peut effectuer le pèlerinage ou si elle doit rester auprès de lui s'il est malade. Il a répondu : "Oui, elle peut sortir pour la cause d'Allah, mais elle ne doit pas se parfumer ni se parer."

12. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Khalid from al-Qasim ibn ‘Urwah from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘A widow whose husband has died must not use perfumes and beautify herself until her ‘Iddah (waiting period) of four months and ten days is complete.’”

Celui qui est décédé, sa femme ne doit ni se parfumer ni se parer jusqu'à ce que sa période d'attente soit terminée, soit quatre mois et dix jours.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies; if she during her waiting period can go out for a right. He (the Imam) said, ‘Certain ones of the wives of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, asked saying, ‘Husband of so and so has died; if she can go out for a right which affects her.’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Woe upon you! Before I commenced my mission a woman among you whose husband would die needed to hold back carnal desires and throw it behind her.’ She then would say, ‘I will not use comb, kohl, or dyes for one complete year.’ I have only commanded you to wait for four months and ten days; even then you do not remain patient not to use comb, kohl, dyes not to go out during the day and not to spend the night somewhere other than your home.’ She then asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what must she do? There is a right that affects her.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘She can go only after midnight and return when it is dark after sunset so that she is not spending the night somewhere other than her house.’ I then asked him (the Imam) if she could perform al-Hajj. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, she can do so.’”

J'ai interrogé l'Imam Sadiq (que la paix soit sur lui) au sujet d'une femme dont le mari décède et qui se trouve dans son 'iddah, si elle peut sortir pour un droit. Il a répondu : Certaines femmes du Prophète (que la paix soit sur lui) l'ont interrogé, disant : "Fulanah a perdu son mari et elle sort pour un droit qu'elle réclame." Le Messager d'Allah (que la paix soit sur lui) leur a dit : "Honte à vous ! Avant ma mission, vous le faisiez et la femme parmi vous, quand son mari décède, prenait un morceau de tissu, le mettait derrière son dos, puis disait : Je ne me parfumerai pas, ni ne me maquillerai, ni ne me teindrai les cheveux pendant une période complète. Je vous ordonne quatre mois et dix jours. Ensuite, ne soyez pas patientes, ne vous parfumez pas, ne vous maquillez pas, ne vous teignez pas les cheveux, ne sortez pas de chez vous le jour, ne passez pas la nuit ailleurs que chez vous." Elles dirent : "Ô Messager d'Allah, que faire si un droit lui est réclamé ?" Il répondit : "Elle peut sortir après le coucher du soleil et rentrer le soir, sans passer la nuit ailleurs que chez elle." Je lui dis : "Peut-elle accomplir le Hajj ?" Il répondit : "Oui."

14. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ibrahim, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a woman whose husband dies; if she can perform al-Hajj. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, she can do so and she can move from one house to another house.’”

Oui, elle doit le faire, sortir et se déplacer d'une maison à une autre.
