3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Ash‘ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘When you eat you must eat from what is nearest to you.’”

Quand l'un d'entre vous mange, qu'il mange de ce qui est devant lui.

4. Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Khashshab from ibn Baqqah from ‘Amr ibn Jami’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The Messenger of Allah, when eating would wipe the dish clean and say, “Whoever, wipes the dish clean is as if has given charity as much.’””

Le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui) avait l'habitude de manger dans un récipient en argile et disait : "Celui qui mange dans un récipient en argile, c'est comme s'il avait fait une aumône équivalente."

5. Ali ibn Muhammad in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, would brush his teeth widthwise and eat using all of his fingers.’”

L'Imam Ali (que la paix soit sur lui) avait l'habitude de découper sa nourriture en morceaux et de la manger avec ses doigts en entier.

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Hashim from abu Khadijah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, would sit like slaves, place his hand on the ground and eat with his three fingers. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, would also eat in the same way and not the way a tyrant one eats with his two fingers.’”

qu'il avait l'habitude de s'asseoir comme le ferait un serviteur, posant sa main par terre et mangeant avec trois doigts. Le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui) mangeait de cette manière, non pas comme le font les tyrans, l'un d'eux mangeant avec deux doigts.

7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Qasim ibn Yahya from his grandfather al-Hassan ibn Rashid from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has stated this Hadith. ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “When one of you eats food he should wipe (lick) his fingers, clean with which he has eaten; Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, ‘Allah grants you blessings.”””

"Lorsque l'un d'entre vous mange de la nourriture, qu'il lèche ses doigts avec lesquels il a mangé." Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, a béni cela.

8. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Nuh ibn Shu’ayb from Yasir al-Khadim who has said the following: “One day boys ate fruit but they did not eat them all and threw them away. Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al- Salam, said to them, ’Allah is free of all defects, if you did not need them, there are people who need them. You must feed those who are needy.’”

قَالَ أَكَلَ الْغِلْمَانُ يَوْماً فَاكِهَةً وَ لَمْ يَسْتَقْصُوا أَكْلَهَا وَ رَمَوْا بِهَا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمُ اسْتَغْنَيْتُمْ فَإِنَّ أُنَاساً لَمْ يَسْتَغْنُوا أَطْعِمُوهُ مَنْ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ .

9. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah ibn Mehran who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about Salat (prayer) for which the time has begun and food is made available. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it is the beginning of the time for Salat (prayer), then first begin with food; but if the time has passed and you are afraid of missing Salat (prayer) for which you then must do Qada’ (the compensatory Salat), then begin with Salat (prayer) first.’”

10. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Nuh ibn Shu’ayb from Yasar al-Khadim and Nadir who both have said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, said to us, ‘If I stand up above you when you are eating, do not stand up until you complete eating.’ Perhaps he called a certain one of us and it was said that they are eating; he (the Imam) would say, ’Leave them until they finish.’”

"Si je me lève alors que vous êtes en train de manger, ne vous levez pas avant d'avoir fini, car il se peut que l'un de nous soit appelé et on lui dise qu'ils sont en train de manger, alors qu'il réponde: Laissez-les finir."

11. It is narrated from Nadir al-Khadim who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, would not ask us to work when we were eating until we finished eating.’”

Lorsqu'un d'entre nous mangeait, Abu Al-Hasan (que la paix soit sur lui) ne l'utilisait pas avant qu'il n'ait fini son repas.

12. It is narrated from Nadir al-Khadim who has said the following “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, would place Jawzinajah (a type of sweet) one on top of the other, and then give them to me.’”

Abu al-Hasan (que la paix soit sur lui) plaçait une noix sur l'autre et me les donnait.

13. Ahmad has narrated from his father from Sulayman al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, when food was made available and certain people had not washed their hands, would say, ‘Those whose hands are clean can eat without washing their hands.’”

Il se peut qu'une table soit apportée et qu'une partie des gens veuille se laver les mains avant de manger, alors il dit : "Celui dont la main est propre peut manger sans se laver les mains."

14. Ahmad has narrated from Yahya ibn Ibrahim from Muhammad ibn Yahya from ibn abu al-Balad from his father from Bazi‘ ibn ‘Umar ibn Bazi‘ who has said the following: “I once visited abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, when he was eating vinegar with oil in a black bowl, in the middle of which it was written, ‘Say Allah is one’. He (the Imam) said to me, ‘Come close, O Bazi’’. I went close and ate with him (the Imam). He (the Imam) sipped water three times when bread was finished; then he gave it to me and I drank the rest of the water.’”

Il est Allah, l'Unique.

15. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Mu’ammar ibn Khallad who has said the following: “I once heard al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘If one eats food in his house and pieces fall, he must pick them up; but if one eats in wilderness or out of the house he can leave such pieces for the birds and beasts.’”

Celui qui mange dans sa maison et laisse tomber quelque chose de sa nourriture, qu'il le reprenne. Et celui qui mange dans le désert ou à l'extérieur, qu'il le laisse pour un oiseau ou une bête sauvage.

16. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following: “’Isma’il prepared food for a ceremony and abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, said to him, ’You must pay attention to the destitute to satisfy their hunger. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, “Falsehood is not served first or revisited for service.” (34:49)”’

Prenez soin des pauvres et rassasiez-les, car Allah, Puissant et Majestueux, dit : "Et le faux ne commence pas et ne se répète pas."

17. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim al-Ja‘fariy from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl in a marfu‘ manner has said, the following: “’A’immah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, have said that the Holy Prophet, when eating would eat from what was in front of (nearest to) him, and when drinking would offer water to one on his right side.’”

Le Prophète (que la paix et les bénédictions d'Allah soient sur lui) avait l'habitude, lorsqu'il mangeait, de donner à manger à ceux qui étaient devant lui, et lorsqu'il buvait, de faire boire ceux qui étaient à sa droite.

18. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from a number of our people have narrated from Ali ibn Asbat from Ya‘qub ibn Salim in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Do not leave a food-stained towel at home without its being washed; it becomes plaything for Satan.’”

Ne suspendez pas le voile de la fenêtre dans la maison, car c'est un refuge pour les démons.

19. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Every Friday present fruits to your family or meat, so that they become happy because of Friday.’”

Faites plaisir à vos familles chaque vendredi en leur offrant des fruits ou de la viande, afin qu'ils se réjouissent du jour de vendredi.

20. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Whoever builds a house should slaughter a healthy ram and feed its meat to the destitute. He then should say, ‘O Lord, drive away from me defiant ones of Jinn and men and Shayatin and bless for us our homes,’ whatever he asks will be granted.’”

قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَنْ بَنَى مَسْكَناً فَلْيَذْبَحْ كَبْشاً سَمِيناً وَ لْيُطْعِمْ لَحْمَهُ الْمَسَاكِينَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ ادْحَرْ عَنِّي مَرَدَةَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ وَ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي بُيُوتِنَا إِلَّا أُعْطِيَ مَا سَأَلَ .

21. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘When you eat [something], then lie down on your back, then place your right leg on your left leg.’”
