And the one who is a guard amongst us with weapon would have its weight so long as it was with him. Do not grieve from once, or twice, or three times, or four, for our example and your example is like the example of the Prophet (as) who was in the Children of Israel. So Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic Revealed to him (as): “If you (as) prepare your (as) people for the fighting, I (azwj) will Help you (as)’. So he (as) gathered them from the top of the mountains and from other places (other) than that. Then he (as) directed them for it. So they neither struck with their swords, nor did they stab with their spears until they were defeated. Then Allah (azwj) Revealed to him: “If you (as) prepare your (as) people for the fighting, I (azwj) will Help you (as)”. So he (as) called them. They said, ‘You promised us the Help, but no Help came to us’. So Allah (azwj) the High Revealed to him (as): “But, they can either choose to fight or the Fire’. So he (as) said: ‘O Lord (azwj)! The fighting is more beloved to me (as) than the Fire’. So he (as) called upon them, and three hundred and thirteen of them answered him (as), the same number of the people of Badr. So he (as) directed them (for the battle). They neither struck with their swords, nor stabbed with their spears, until Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic granted victory to them’.

Ils n'ont pas frappé avec une épée ni poignardé avec une lance jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient vaincus. Ensuite, Allah lui a révélé de convoquer à nouveau son peuple au combat, car Il le soutiendrait. Il les a rassemblés à nouveau et les a dirigés vers l'ennemi. Ils n'ont pas frappé avec une épée ni poignardé avec une lance jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient vaincus. Puis Allah lui a révélé de les convoquer une troisième fois au combat, car Il le soutiendrait. Il les a appelés et ils ont dit: "Tu nous as promis la victoire, mais nous n'avons pas été aidés." Alors Allah le Très-Haut lui a révélé que s'ils choisissaient entre le combat et le feu, il a dit: "Ô Seigneur, le combat est plus aimé pour moi que le feu." Il les a appelés et trois cent treize des compagnons de Badr ont répondu à son appel. Il les a dirigés vers l'ennemi et ils n'ont pas frappé avec une épée ni poignardé avec une lance jusqu'à ce qu'Allah leur ait donné la victoire."
