243. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umayr Bin Azina, from Muhammad Bin Muslim who said: I said to Abu Ja’far (asws), ‘The Statement of Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic: “[8:39] And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah”, So he (asws) said: ‘The case to which this Verse applies has not come yet. The Rasool Allah (saww) allowed them (the non-Muslims) for his (saww) need and the needs of his (saww) companions. Had there come the case of its implementation, he (saww) would not have accepted from them, but they would not spare their lives until they would have accepted the Oneness of Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic and until they would not have remained any Polytheism (Shirk)’.
IsnādAli ibn Ibrahim rapporte de son père, de Ibn Abi Umair, de Omar ibn Uzaynah, de Muhammad ibn Muslim, qui a dit : J'ai demandé à Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) au sujet de la parole d'Allah, exalté soit-Il : "Et combattez-les jusqu'à ce qu'il n'y ait plus d'association, et que la religion soit entièrement à Allah." Il a répondu : "L'interprétation de ce verset n'est pas encore venue. Certes, le Messager d'Allah (que la prière d'Allah et Son salut soient sur lui et sa famille) leur a permis pour leurs besoins et les besoins de ses compagnons. Si son interprétation était venue, elle ne leur aurait pas été acceptée. Mais ils seront combattus jusqu'à ce qu'Allah, exalté soit-Il, soit adoré seul et qu'il n'y ait pas de polythéisme."
