Le noble dessein de vivre

337. From him, and from someone else, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Usman Bin Isa, from Khalid Bin Najeeh, who has narrated the following: Abu Abdullah (asws) having said to a man: ‘Be content with what Allah (azwj) has Distributed to you, and do not look at what is in the possession of others, and do not covet what cannot be achieved, for the one who is content, he is satisfied, and the one who is not content is not at ease, and take your share from the Hereafter’. And Abu Abdullah (asws) said; ‘The most beneficial for the person is his precedence in finding faults with himself before (finding) the faults in others, and the most difficult thing is hiding the hunger, and the least of the (beneficial) things is the advice to the one who does not accept it and being in the neighbourhood of the greedy, and the most comforting of the comforts is in having despaired from the people’. And he (asws) said: ‘Do not be irritating or ill-mannered and humble yourself by bearing the one who opposes you, and the one who is above you, and the one who has a preference over you, and accept the preference of the one who is opposed to you. The one who does not accept the preference of others would be ‘الْمُعْجَبُ بِرَأْيِهِ’ self-conceited’. And he (asws) said to a man: ‘Know, that he has no honour, the one who does not humble himself to Allah (azwj) and no elevation for the one who does not humble himself before Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic’. And he (asws) said to a man: ‘Organise the affairs of your Religion just as the people of the world organise the affairs of their world. So the world has been Made as a witness by which the hidden matters of the Hereafter can be recognised. So recognise the Hereafter by it and do not look to the world except with a view to take a lesson from it’.

Il a dit : "Dis à un homme : Sois satisfait de ce qu'Allah t'a accordé, ne regarde pas ce que possèdent les autres, et ne désire pas ce que tu ne peux obtenir. Car celui qui se contente est rassasié, et celui qui ne se contente pas ne sera jamais rassasié. Prends ta part pour l'au-delà." Abu Abdullah (que la paix soit sur lui) a également dit : "Les choses les plus bénéfiques pour un individu sont de devancer les autres dans la reconnaissance de ses propres défauts, de dissimuler sa pauvreté, de conseiller ceux qui ne l'acceptent pas, de fréquenter les personnes zélées, et les pires des désespoirs sont de désespérer des gens. Ne sois ni arrogant, ni fermé, et humilie-toi en acceptant l'opinion de ceux qui te surpassent, et si quelqu'un a un avantage sur toi, reconnais son mérite pour ne pas entrer en conflit avec lui. Celui qui ne reconnaît l'avantage de personne est celui qui est ébloui par son propre avis. Dis à un homme : Sache qu'il n'y a pas de dignité pour celui qui ne s'humilie pas devant Allah, béni et exalté, et pas d'élévation pour celui qui ne s'abaisse pas devant Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux. Dis à un homme : Gère les affaires de ta religion avec autant de soin que les gens du monde gèrent leurs affaires mondaines, car le monde a été créé comme un témoin pour ce qui est absent de l'au-delà, alors connais l'au-delà à travers cela et ne regarde le monde qu'en considération de l'au-delà."
