The World is Just Two Words and Two Dirhams

2-26 (The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Al-Nawfaly, on the authority of Al-Sakoony, on the authority of Ja’far ibn Muhammad (MGB), on the authority of his father (MGB), “Abuzar - may God have Mercy upon him - was standing by the Ka’ba and said, ‘I am Jundab ibn Sakan.’ The people gathered around him. He said, ‘You prepare some things to take along with yourself when deciding to go on a trip. The trip to the Hereafter is upcoming. Don’t you want to prepare some things to take along to benefit you?’ A man went to him and said, ‘Please advise us.’ He said, ‘Fast on hot days as a means of savings for the Resurrection, and perform the Hajj pilgrimage visit for major affairs. Say two units of prayers in the dark of the night for the awe of the grave. Speak fairly , give charity to the poor and do not utter wicked words so that perhaps you may be saved from the Day of Hardship (Resurrection). Consider this world to be worth only two Dirhams. Spend one Dirham for your wife and send the second Dirham ahead of you. Any third Dirham is harmful and will not benefit you. Consider this world to be two words. Use one word to earn a legitimate means of sustenance and use the second one to attain the Hereafter. The third word is harmful and will not benefit you. Do not go after it.’ He added, ‘The sorrow of the day which I cannot attain kills me.’”
IsnādAbou Dawoud a rapporté de son père, qui a rapporté d'Ali ibn Ibrahim, de son père, de An-Nawfali, de As-Sakuni, de Ja'far ibn Muhammad, de son père, paix et bénédictions de Dieu sur eux, a dit:
Abou Dhar, que la miséricorde de Dieu soit sur lui, se tint debout près de la Kaaba et dit: "Je suis Jundub ibn Junadah. Les gens se rassemblèrent autour de lui et il dit: 'Si l'un de vous prévoit un voyage, qu'il prenne pour provisions ce qui lui suffit. Voyagez-vous pour un jour où vous aurez besoin de provisions?' Un homme se leva et lui demanda conseil. Il lui dit: 'Jeûne un jour de grande chaleur en prévision de la Résurrection, accomplis un pèlerinage pour les grands péchés, et prie deux unités de prière dans l'obscurité de la nuit par crainte des tombes. Prononce une bonne parole et retiens-toi d'une mauvaise, ou fais une aumône à un pauvre, peut-être te sauvera-t-elle, ô pauvre, d'un jour difficile. Fais de ce monde deux dirhams: un dirham que tu dépenses pour ta famille, et un dirham que tu envoies pour ton au-delà. Le troisième est nuisible et non bénéfique, ne le rejette pas. Fais de ce monde deux paroles: une pour chercher l'avènement et une pour l'au-delà. Le troisième est nuisible et non bénéfique, ne le rejette pas.' 2-27 (The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ahmad, on the authority of Ali ibn al-Sindy, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Sa’id, on the authority of Musa ibn Akeel, “I heard Aba Abdullah as-Sadiq (MGB) say, ‘A man would not be knowledgeable (in religion) unless he abandons lust and doesn’t care about what he wears or what he eats to overcome his hunger.’”

Un homme ne devient pas un juriste tant qu'il ne se soucie pas de l'apparence de ses vêtements et de ce qui remplit le creux de son estomac.
2-28 Ja’far ibn Ali ibn al-Hassan al-Kufy - may God have Mercy upon him - narrated that his father Ali ibn al-Hassan quoted on the authority of his father Al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Abdullah ibn al-Muqayrih, on the authority of Abdullah ibn al-Muqayrih, on the authority of Al-Sakoony, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his forefathers, on the authority of Ali (MGB) that God’s Prophet (MGB) said, “There in no good in life except for two men: a knowledgeable one who is obeyed, and an obedient student.”
