2-74 (The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ahmad ibn Idris quoted Muhammad ibn Ahmad, on the authority of Ali ibn Isma’il, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Sa’id, on the authority of some of his companions who said that they heard al-Ayashi say, “I asked Al-Ridha (MGB) about the subsistence for the spouse. The Imam (MGB) said, ‘It is in between two abominable limits.’ I asked the Imam (MGB), ‘May I be your ransom! I swear by God that I do not know what the two abominable limits are.’ The Imam (MGB) said, ‘Yes. May God have Mercy upon you! Don’t you know that God the Honorable the Exalted despises extravagance and miserliness and has said,‘Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes).’ ”

J'ai dit: Que ma vie te soit sacrifiée, par Allah, je ne connais pas ceux qui sont détestés. Il a dit: Alors il a dit: Oui, qu'Allah te fasse miséricorde. Ne sais-tu pas qu'Allah, Puissant et Majestueux, déteste le gaspillage et déteste la parcimonie? Il a dit: "Et ceux qui, lorsqu'ils dépensent, ne sont ni prodigues ni avares, mais se tiennent au juste milieu."
