The eight characteristics of Ali (MGB)

8-17 Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Taleqani - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Abu Sa’id al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Ado’we quoted Umar ibn al-Mukhtar, on the authority of Yahya al-Himani, on the authority of Qays ibn al-Rabi’a, on the authority of Al-A’amash, on the authority of Ababiat ibn Rub’ee Al-Asady, on the authority of Ayoob al-Ansari, “Fatimah (MGB) visited the Prophet (MGB) when he (MGB) became so ill that he was about to die. When she saw that he (MGB) was so ill, tears poured down her cheeks from her eyes. The Prophet (MGB) told her (MGB), ‘O Fatimah! God - Exalted is His Remembrance - took a close look at the Earth and chose your father (MGB) from amongst all of the people on it. Then He took another close look at the Earth and chose your husband Ali (MGB) and inspired me to marry you off to him (MGB). O Fatimah! You should know that out of God’s generosity He joined you in marriage to the one whose belief is the greatest of all people; who is the most patient of all; and whose knowledge is the most of all.’ Fatimah (MGB) became happy after hearing this. Then the Prophet (MGB) decided to tell her about the best thing which God had granted Muhammad (MGB) and his Holy Household. Thus, he (MGB) added, ‘O Fatimah! Ali (MGB) has eight characteristics as follows: his belief in God and His Prophet (MGB); his knowledge; his wisdom; his wife (MGB); his two sons who are Al-Hassan (MGB) and Al-Hussein (MGB); his (MGB) enjoining other people to do good deeds; his (MGB) admonishing other people against evil; and his (MGB) judgement which is based upon God’s Book. O Fatimah! We are the Members of a Holy Household and have been given seven characteristics as follows which has never been granted to anyone in the past and will not be given to anyone in the future. Our Prophet (MGB) who is your father is the best of all the Prophets (MGB); his Trustee who is also your husband is the best of all the Trustees; our martyrs are the Master of the Martyrs (MGB) who are your father’s uncle Hamzih, and Ja’far who will have two wings with which to fly in Paradise; the sons of this nation who are your two sons are from us.’”
IsnādMuhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Ishaq at-Talaqani nous a informés, a dit: Abu Sa'id al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Adawi nous a informés, a dit: Omar ibn al-Mukhtar nous a informés, a dit: Yahya al-Hamani nous a informé, a dit: Qais ibn ar-Rabi' a rapporté de al-A'mash, de Abaya ibn Rabi' al-Asadi, de Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, qui a dit: Le Messager d'Allah tomba malade et Fatima (paix soit sur elle) vint le voir en le réconfortant, alors qu'il souffrait de sa maladie. Lorsqu'elle vit l'état du Messager d'Allah, avec sa fatigue et sa faiblesse, elle fut submergée par l'émotion au point que ses larmes coulèrent sur ses joues. Le Prophète (que la paix et les bénédictions d'Allah soient sur lui) lui dit: "Ô Fatima, certes Allah, Le Très Haut, a regardé sur la terre et a choisi ton père, puis Il a regardé une seconde fois et a choisi ton époux. Il m'a alors révélé de te marier à lui. Ne sais-tu pas, ô Fatima, que parmi les nobles d'Allah à ton égard, ton mari est le plus ancien d'eux en Islam, le plus grand en patience et le plus savant."
Fatima se réjouit des paroles réconfortantes du Messager d'Allah. Le Prophète (que la paix et les bénédictions d'Allah soient sur lui) voulait lui accorder encore plus de bienfaits, tous ceux qu'Allah avait partagés entre lui, Muhammad (que la paix et les bénédictions d'Allah soient sur lui) et sa famille. Il dit: "Ô Fatima, Ali possède huit qualités: sa foi en Allah et en Son Messager, sa connaissance et sa sagesse, son épouse, ses fils Hassan et Hussein, son ordre du bien et son interdiction du mal, et sa décision basée sur le Livre d'Allah. Ô Fatima, nous, les gens de la Maison, avons reçu sept qualités que personne parmi les premiers avant nous n'a reçues, et que personne parmi les derniers après nous ne pourra atteindre: notre Prophète est le meilleur des prophètes et il est ton père, notre successeur est le meilleur des successeurs et il est ton époux, notre martyr est le chef des martyrs et il est Hamza, l'oncle de ton père, parmi nous il y a celui qui a des ailes avec lesquelles il vole au Paradis et c'est Ja'far, et parmi nous il y a les deux princes de cette communauté et ce sont tes deux fils."
