3. Muḥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, who said: I heard Imam Riďā (a.s.) say: Going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) is equal to performing a purified and accepted ‘Umrah.

My father and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan both narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad and ‘Abdillāh sons of Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Mūsā ibn Qāsim, from Ḥasan ibn Jahm, who said: I asked Abal Ḥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)), “What do you say about (the reward for) going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “What is your opinion about this (matter)?” I said, “Some people say that it is equal to performing one Hajj while others say it is equal to performing an ‘Umrah.” Imam (a.s.) said, “It is equal to performing an accepted ‘Umrah.”

Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan Al-Saffār, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muḥammad ibn ‘Ali, from Ibrāhīm ibn Yaḥyā Al-Qaťťān, from his father Abil Bilād, who said: I asked Abal Ḥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)) about (the reward for) going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) asked, “What is your opinion about this (matter)?” I replied, “We say that it is equal to performing a Hajj and an ‘Umrah.” Imam (a.s.) said, “It is equal to performing a purified ‘Umrah.”

6. ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Ali ibn Aḥmad ibn Ashyam, from Safwān ibn Yaḥyā, who said: I asked Imam Riďā (a.s.), “What it the reward for going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) said, “It is equal to performing an ‘Umrah.”

My father and Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh both narrated to me from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari, from Ibrāhīm ibn Mahziyār, from his brother ‘Ali ibn Mahziyār, from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, who said: I heard Abal Ḥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)) say: Going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) is equal to performing a purified and an accepted ‘Umrah.

8. Muḥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Safwān ibn Yaḥyā, who said: I asked Abal Ḥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)) about the reward for going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) said, “It is equal to performing an ‘Umrah.”

A group of our companions narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, and from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from ‘Amraki ibn ‘Ali, from some of his companions, from one of them (the infallible Imams (a.s.)), who said: Performing four ‘Umrah is equal to performing a Hajj, and going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) is equal to performing an ‘Umrah.

A group of our companions narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, and from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from ‘Amraki ibn Al-Būfaki, from someone who narrated to him, from Muḥammad ibn Fuďayl, from Abī Rabāb, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) about (the reward for) going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) said, “It is equal to performing an ‘Umrah, and one is not permitted to stay away from it for longer than four years.”
