My father and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan both narrated to me from Ḥusain ibn Ḥasan ibn Abān, from Ḥusain ibn Sa’īd, from Qāsim ibn Muḥammad Al-Jawhari, from Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: Allāh has dedicated four thousand angels to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust who cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. These angels will accompany those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.), while knowing his rights, until they arrive at their safe haven. And if they become ill, the angels will visit them every morning and evening. And when they die, the angels will attend their funerals and seek forgiveness for them until the Day of Judgment.

Ja’far ibn Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to me from ‘Abdillāh ibn Nahīk, from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Salamah Sāḥib Al-Sāburi, from Abil Sabbāḥ Al-Kināni, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: Verily there is a grave near you to which no anguished person goes without Allāh removing his anguish and fulfilling his requests. Verily there are four thousand angels next to his grave (who have been there) since the day his life was taken. They are disheveled, covered with dust, and they cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. These angels accompany those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad ibn Walīd narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan Al-Saffār, from Ḥasan ibn ‘Ali ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Mughīrah, from ‘Abbās ibn ‘Āmir, from Abān, from Abī Ḥamzah (Al-Thumāli), who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Verily Allāh has dedicated four thousand angels to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust. They cry over Ḥusain (a.s.) from dawn until midday, at which point they ascend to the heavens and they are replaced with another four thousand angels who cry over him until dawn. These angels will testify to the loyalty of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.), will accompany them back to their families, visit them if they become ill, and establish prayers on them when they die.

Muḥammad ibn Ja’far narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Mūsā ibn Sa’dān, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Qāsim, from ‘Umar ibn Abān Al-Kalbi, from Abān ibn Taghlib, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Four thousand angels descended (on the Day of ‘Āshūrā) to fight along with Ḥusain (a.s.) but they were not permitted to fight. Therefore, they ascended back (to the heavens) to seek permission (from Allāh). However, by the time they came back, Ḥusain (a.s.) had been killed. Therefore, they remain next to his grave, disheveled and covered with dust, and they cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. Their chief is an angel named Mansūr. These angels receive everyone who comes to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) and they accompany them when they bid farewell to Ḥusain (a.s.). They visit them if they become ill, establish prayers on them in their funerals when they die, and seek forgiveness for them after their death. All of these angels are on earth waiting for the rising of the Qā`im (a.s.).

10. Abul ‘Abbās Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muḥammad ibn Fuďayl, from Muḥammad ibn Muďārib, from Mālik Al-Juhani, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: O Mālik! When Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, took the life of Ḥusain (a.s.), He sent four thousand angels, who are disheveled and covered with dust, to him who cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. When I mentioned the Hajj (which will be registered for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.)), Imam (a.s.) said, “And an ‘Umrah, O Muḥamma!”
