2. Ḥukaym ibn Dāwūd ibn Ḥukaym narrated to me from Salamah, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Aḥmad, from Bakr ibn Sāliḥ, from ‘Amr ibn Hishām, from some of our companions, who said: One of them (the infallible Imams (a.s.)) said: When you go to the Ziyārah of the graves of the Imams (a.s.) in Baqī’, stand next to their graves facing them, with your back toward Qiblah and recite (the following): Salām to you, O the Imams of Guidance! Salām to you, O People of Devotion and Piety! Salām to you, O the Decisive Proofs on the people of the world! Salām to you, O the Just Custodians of Creation! Salām to you, O Chosen Ones! Salām to you, O the Family of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)! Salām to you, O Confidants (of Allāh)! I testify that you announced (the message of Allāh), you advised (the people), and you stayed patient in (the way of) Allāh. You were belied and insulted but you forgave. I testify that you are the wise Imams who are rightly guided, that obeying you is obligatory, and that your words are the truth. You called the people (toward Allāh) but your call was not answered, and you commanded the people but you were not obeyed. Verily you are the supporters of the religion and the pillars of the earth. Allāh has always watched over you, and He transferred you from the backbones of the purified fathers to the wombs of the purified mothers. The darkness of paganism did not defile you and afflictions (which are often a result) of (one’s) desires did not affect you. You were blessed and the places in which you were raised were also blessed. The Undisputed Ruler of Religion has bestowed favours upon us through you and through placing you “in houses which Allāh has permitted to be exalted, and His name to be remembered therein” (24:36). Allāh has made our SALAWĀT on you as (a form of) mercy on us and penance for our sins. Verily Allāh has chosen you (as Imams) for us. He has purified our creation by bestowing His favours upon us through your Wilāyah. We were named by Allāh as those who know you and we are known (by Allāh) as those who acknowledge your Imamate. I am in the position of one who has been excessive and who has made mistakes, but has surrendered, confessed to his crimes, and hopes to be saved through being here. (I am) one who hopes that the Saviour of those ruined (by their sins) will save him from destruction through you. Therefore, intercede on my behalf, for I have come to you while the people of this world have abandoned you, have mocked the signs of Allāh, and have arrogantly turned away from them. O One who is (always) in charge (of the affairs) and is never neglectful! O One who is everlasting and never distracted! O One who encompasses all things! You have favoured me by giving me the success of knowing my Imams and by keeping me steady on this (belief), while Your (other) slaves have turned away from it, ignored knowing it, belittled the rights of this belief, and have turned to other paths. Therefore, the favour is from You to me and to certain nations for whom You have chosen that which You have chosen for me. Praise be to You for registering me for this position. Do not deprive me of that which I hope for and do not disappoint me in this position (by not granting) my requests through the honour of Muḥammad (s.a.a.w.) and his purified family. Then pray for that which you want.
IsnādEt de lui, de Salama, d'Abdullah ibn Ahmad, de Bakr ibn Salih, d'Amr ibn Hisham [Hashim], de certains de nos compagnons, de l'un d'eux, (paix soit sur lui) a dit : "Lorsque tu viens aux tombes des Imams au Baqi', arrête-toi devant eux, place la Qibla derrière toi et la tombe devant toi, puis dis : "Paix soit sur vous, ô Imams de la guidance, paix soit sur vous, ô gens de la piété et de la crainte, paix soit sur vous, ô preuves contre les gens du monde, paix soit sur vous, ô ceux qui se tiennent fermes dans la droiture avec justice, paix soit sur vous, ô gens de l'élite, paix soit sur vous, ô famille du Messager d'Allah (que la paix soit sur lui), paix soit sur vous, ô gens des conseils secrets. Je témoigne que vous avez transmis le message, conseillé, enduré pour l'amour d'Allah, été calomniés et maltraités, mais avez pardonné. Je témoigne que vous êtes les Imams bien guidés, les Mahdis [les bien guidés], et que votre obéissance est obligatoire, que votre parole est vérité, que vous avez appelé mais n'avez pas été répondu, ordonné mais n'avez pas été obéi, que vous êtes les piliers de la religion et les fondements de la terre. Vous n'avez pas cessé d'être sous le regard d'Allah, Il vous transfère d'une génération de purs à une autre, la période de l'ignorance des ignorants ne vous a pas souillés, vous n'avez pas été impliqués dans les tentations des passions. Vous êtes purs et bénis, ceux pour qui nous avons une dette religieuse, qui nous ont élevés dans des maisons où le nom d'Allah est mentionné, et nos prières sur vous sont une miséricorde pour nous et une expiation pour nos péchés. Lorsqu'Allah vous a choisis pour nous et a embelli notre création par ce qu'Il nous a accordé de votre autorité, nous avons été désignés par Lui pour votre connaissance, reconnaissant votre vérité. C'est la position de celui qui a agi avec excès, a commis des erreurs, s'est humilié, a reconnu ses fautes et a espéré en sa position d'abnégation, et en vous sauvant, il sauve les perdus de l'égarement. Soyez mes intercesseurs, car je viens à vous lorsque les gens du monde se détournent de vous et prennent les signes d'Allah à la légère et les méprisent, ô Celui qui est établi sans défaillance, éternel sans distraction, englobant toute chose. A vous la louange pour ce que vous m'avez accordé et m'avez fait connaître mes Imams, et pour ce que vous m'avez établi en eux lorsque Vos serviteurs les ont rejetés, ont ignoré leur connaissance, ont mérité leur droit et se sont tournés vers autre chose. La grâce de Vous envers moi a été avec un groupe que Vous avez choisi comme Vous m'avez choisi. A Vous la louange, car j'étais en Votre présence dans un lieu mentionné, écrit. Ne me privez pas de ce que j'ai espéré, ne me décevez pas dans ce que j'ai invoqué dans cette position qui est sacrée par la présence de Muhammad et de sa sainte famille. Priez pour vous-mêmes avec ce que vous aimez.
