7 – Aḥmad b. Hilāl, al-ʿAbartā’ī, Abū Jaʿfar. I regard halting (to be appropriate) in regards to his ḥadīth, except for what he narrates from al-Ḥasan b. Maḥbūb from the book al-Mashīkha and Muḥammad b. Abī ʿUmayr from his Nawādir. The venerable of the Aṣḥāb al-Ḥadīth have heard these two books and relied upon what is in them. He was born in the year 180, and died in the year 267.

Je vois qu'il est prudent dans ses hadiths, sauf dans ce qu'il rapporte de al-Ḥasan ibn Maḥbūb du livre "al-Mashīkha", et de Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿUmayr de ses "nawādir", et ces deux livres sont entendus par les grands spécialistes du hadith qui les ont approuvés. Il est né en l'an quatre-vingts et cent, et il est décédé en l'an soixante-dix et deux cents.
