1. We were told by Muhammed bin Qasem, the exegete, al-Jarjani, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: We were told by Ahmad ibn Hasan al-Hussaini, from Hasan bin Ali al-Nasiri, from his father, from Muhammed bin Ali, from his father, al-Rida, from his father, Musa bin Ja’far, peace be upon them, that he said: Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, was asked about the abstinent in this world. He said: The one who abandons what is allowable from it out of fear of its reckoning (on the Day of Judgement), and who abandons its forbidden out of fear of its punishment.
IsnādMuhammad ibn al-Qasim al-Mufassir al-Jurjani a rapporté: Nous a informés Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Husayni, de la part de al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Nasir [que Dieu lui accorde Sa satisfaction], de la part de son père, de la part de Muhammad ibn Ali, de la part de son père al-Rida, de la part de son père Musa ibn Ja'far, que la paix soit sur eux, a dit:
"Al-Sadiq, que la paix soit sur lui, a été interrogé sur celui qui se détache des plaisirs de ce monde. Il a dit : Celui qui délaisse ce qui est licite par crainte de Son jugement et qui délaisse ce qui est illicite par crainte de Son châtiment."
