[1/1576] al-Tawhid, Ma’ani al-Akhbar and Uyun Akhbar al-Ridha: Al-Taliqani from Ahmad al-Hamdani from Ali b. al-Hasan b. Fadhal from his father (al-Hasan) who said: I asked al-Ridha عليه السلام about Bismillah. He said: The meaning of the words of the one who says Bismillah is - Asumm (I mark) my self with a Sima (mark) from the marks of Allah Mighty and Majestic, and that (mark) is worshipful servitude. He (al-Hasan) said: So I said to him: What is Sima? He said: A distinguishing emblem
IsnādAl-Tawhid wa Ma'ani al-Akhbar wa 'Uyun Akhbar al-Rida: al-Talqani, 'an Ahmad al-Hamdani, 'an 'Ali ibn Hasan ibn Fadhal, 'an abih qala: Sa'alt al-Rida 'an Bismillah qala: Ma'na qawl al-qail Bismillah ay ism nafsi bismat min samat 'azawajal, wa huwa al-'ubudiyya, qala: Faqultu lahu: Ma al-simat?
