422. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: Do good and do not regard any part of it small because its small is big and its little is much. No one of you should say that another person is more deserving than I in doing good. Otherwise, by Allāh, it would really be so. There are people of good and evil. When you would leave either of the two, others will perform them.

Faites le bien et ne méprisez aucun acte de bien, car même le plus petit est grand et même le moindre est considérable. Que personne parmi vous ne dise : "Quelqu'un est plus digne que moi de faire le bien." Car en vérité, pour le bien et le mal, il y a des gens compétents. Ainsi, peu importe ce que vous laissez des deux, ses gens le suffiront.
