262. It is said that al-Ḥārith ibn Ḥawṭ came to Amīr al-mu’minīn, and said: Do you believe I can ever imagine that the people of Jamal were in the wrong?
IsnādIl a été rapporté que Al-Hârith ibn Hawt est venu le voir (que la paix soit sur lui) et lui a dit : "Me considères-tu comme pensant que les compagnons du chameau étaient égarés ?"
Me considères-tu comme pensant que les compagnons du chameau étaient égarés ?
Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: O’ al-Ḥārith! You have seen below yourself but not above yourself, and so you have been confused. Certainly, you have not known right, so that you can recognize the righteous. And you have not known wrong, so that you can recognize the people of wrong!
IsnādLe Prophète Muhammad (que la paix soit sur lui) a dit:
"Ô Harith, tu as regardé en-dessous de toi mais tu n'as pas regardé au-dessus de toi, tu es perdu. Tu n'as pas reconnu la vérité pour pouvoir reconnaître celui qui la détient, et tu n'as pas reconnu le mensonge pour pouvoir reconnaître celui qui le propage."
Then al-Ḥārith said: In that case, I shall withdraw along with Sa‘d ibn Mālik and ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar;
IsnādAl-Hārith a dit: "Je me retire avec Sa`īd ibn Mālik et `Abd Allāh ibn `Umar."
Je me retire avec Sa`īd ibn Mālik et `Abd Allāh ibn `Umar.
whereupon Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: Verily, Sa‘d and ‘Umar have neither sided with Right nor forsaken Wrong. [1]

Certes, Sa'id et Abdallah ibn 'Umar n'ont ni soutenu la vérité ni abandonné le faux.
