A Fasting Person’s Use of Chewing Gum

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who chews chewing gum when fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he cannot do so.’”
Isnādعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم)
قَالَ قُلْتُ الصَّائِمُ يَمْضَغُ الْعِلْكَ قَالَ لا.
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once said to me, ‘O Muhammad, never chew chewing gum because I today did so when I was fasting and I found something from it in my soul.’”
IsnādMuhammad ibn Yahya a rapporté de Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, de Ali ibn al-Hakam, de al-Ala ibn Razin, de Muhammad ibn Muslim, qui a dit : Abu Ja'far (que la paix soit sur lui) a dit : "Ô Muhammad, évite de mâcher de la gomme, car aujourd'hui j'en ai mâché alors que je jeûnais, et j'ai trouvé quelque chose en moi à cause de cela."
